Training Tips & Tricks
Training Tips
Having a new puppy can be a big adjustment. Just like human babies, puppies can take a lot of work and a lot of patience--especially at first. Here are a few tips and tricks to help your new adventure run a little smoother!

Potty Training:
-
Have a feeding schedule, or at least a routine. Puppies generally go potty 15 to 30 minutes after eating. make sure they're outside during that time frame. When you take a puppy outside to go potty, don't interact or play until after they go. Teach them "business first, then play." Most of all give them plenty of opportunity to do it in the right place--outside! Watch for signs of needing to go such as excessive sniffing.

Biting / Chewing
-
The puppy that chews on everything is one, teething, or two, board, but often times both. Say, "No." Then replace the item you wish left alone with something they can chew such as a toy. Be sure to give them plenty of exercise!
